Thriving Investments has appointed Phil Clark as Chair of its Board of Directors.
Phil has been a non-executive Director at Thriving Investments for over two years and brings over three decades of experience in real estate investment.
He is the Chair of Wellcome Genome Campus and is on the Equity Investment Committee for Pension Insurance Corporation. Previous roles include Global Head of Real Assets at Aegon and Head of Specialist Property Investment Funds at Aviva Investors.
As a long-time advocate of investing with social purpose at the forefront, Phil has a successful track record of working with innovative teams to drive sustainable ambitions. His role as Chair of the Thriving Investments Board will see him working alongside CEO Cath Webster to devise and deliver on Thriving Investments’ vision, purpose and growth plans. This will include striving towards 20,000 homes under management across the UK; the milestone of 5,000 homes completed or under construction having been reached following a flurry of deal activity in 2025.
Furthermore, in 2000, Phil established the Igloo Regeneration Partnership believed to be the first property investment fund to be focused on sustainable regeneration. That fund was acquired by Places for People in 2018 and is managed by Thriving Investments along with igloo Regeneration Limited (a subsidiary of Thriving Investments since 2023).
He takes over from Places for People Chair Richard Gregory, who has chaired the Board since joining the Group over five years ago.
Richard Gregory OBE, Group Chairman, Places for People said:
“I am delighted to be able to hand over the reins to Phil, who brings a wealth of skills and experience to the role and has already made very significant contributions to the Board. Thriving Investments could not be in better hands with Phil as Chair and Cath Webster as CEO.
Under their leadership, I am excited by the potential of this fast-growing business to create further value for investors in the UK residential property market, the Places for People Group, and critically the local communities it serves.”
Phil Clark, Chair, Thriving Investments Board said:
“It’s an honour to step up to Chair the Thriving Investments Board, having spent the last two years working alongside Richard, Cath and the wider team to bring thriving communities to life.
I now look forward to continuing our great work in addressing the UK’s housing crisis at scale in 2026, driven by our purpose in bringing forward vital institutional capital, developing communities with wellbeing at their heart, and protecting the environment.”
